MAP does Step Inside at Rose Hill.

The MAP team were working in Rose Hill today as part of a two week arts project called 'Step Inside.' We have run these around the county with 11 different schools. Today the team delivered a mixture of drawing projects, mask making for drama workshops and sculpture sessions.

Today we looked at our favourite food and our relationship with it. We made up big menus and talked about our families and who does the cooking in our house! Next we are going to make food sculptures and tomorrow we're making a film! p.s nice picture of the bins!

Um-BER-el-ER-ER...

Craig, Stephen and Andrew jumped in a cab and nipped over to Oxford to attend The Big Umbrella Youth Arts Festival, where MAP showed a film and visual work in the Gallery.
We stopped off for Pizza

...and broke the ice-cream machine

The waitress was very understanding.

At the festival, all three were really inspired by the event and were excitedly planning new ideas as they headed back home.

MAP Banbury

It's all go at Banbury MAP. Lots of great music, photography and creative writing happening. Chris says -

"At MAP I have been steadily completing a big piece - like a big detailed picture of my character surrounded by legs, flowers, hands and wires. It's taken me weeks to perfect it and like make it look 3-D. But when I had finally finished it, I was mega hyped and proud of what I had achieved.

I have been using Photoshop a hell of a lot too. At first, it took a while to get to grips with it but now I’m like a PRO with it and can easily navigate around it.

I’ve been using the studio a lot too, it's my favourite activity here at MAP. You can, like, make music with so many options it's limitless to what you can create. I’m really liking the studio, close to loving it even!

Stencilling was pretty cool - a bit annoying, but the end result was cool..."

Film Screenings at The Mill Exhibition

The exhibition was a great opportunity to show animations and films made by the students at MAP. Visitors also had the chance to watch the short made by young parents in Blackbird Leys called 'If you were me.' The film featured on the BBC website recently and won a local filmakers competition organized by OFVM. It was also screened on Channel Six.

For everyone that missed out on coming to the exhibition here are a few images taken on a reasonably dodgy camera phone!
